Ascot 2011

My wife and I attended Royal Ascot last Friday.  I had one eye on the horses and the other amazing outfits all around me in the Royal Enclosure- stunning outfits by Giorgio Armani, Valentina, Hugo Boss, Diana Furstenburg and Stella Mccartney with some awe-inspiring hats by Phillip Tracey.

There were several of our own hire morning suits amongst the crowd.  I wore one of our Prestige Collection morning suits- the Wilvorst Silk and wool suit in Charcoal.  I love the look of a morning suit- it makes everyone look taller, slimmer and younger.

Unfortunately the key accessory of the day was a very large umbrella!

The team at Christopher Scotneys, Leicester, are delighted to be supplying the suits for Coalville Town Football Club’s Carlsberg Vase FA Final at Wembley.

Having supplied Leicester City with outfits for Wembley on several occasions we are pleased to have the opportunity to be involved with Coalville Town’s bid.

Coalville Town are the first Leicestershire side to reach the Vase final and in doing so have ensured they will be the first Leicestershire side to play at the new Wembley.  They have planned to dress to impress with suits provided by Christopher Scotney.

The final takes place on Sunday 8th May (3pm kick off).  Manager Adam Stevens – a proud resident of Coalville – and his players would love to have a big crowd backing them as they look to become national champions.  You can find out more about the Coalville Town FC and purchase tickets for the match via their website: http://www.coalvilletownfc.co.uk/.

Coalville Town were originally formed in 1926 as Ravenstone Miners Athletic.  They spent many years in the Coalville and District Amateur League.   A move of ground to Coalville ocurred due to the refusal of the Parish Council to grant permission for the addition of floodlights.  Following this, the club’s name was changed to Coalville Town.

In 2003-2004 they became the second club in the history of the FA Cup to reach the First Round Proper when starting from an extra preliminary round.

We will be at Wembley on Sunday May 8th to support Coalville Town.  Reaching the finals is a huge achievement and what a proud moment it would be if they arrived back home with the Carlsberg FA Vase.

Unfortunately my invite to the Royal Wedding must have been lost in the post!! I have had to put my tails and top hat on ice until Ascot.

However, on Saturday we organised a suit hire for an attendee of the wedding.  I am delighted that one of our hire suits will be part of William and Kate’s big day.

We will be quizzing the suit for all the details of the Royal Wedding upon its return.  Unfortunately they do tend to be rather discreet so we will have to stick with whatever we can glean from ‘Hello’!!!!

We have seen a huge surge in sales of designer T shirts and designer polo shirts since the lovely weather arrived last week.  Designer wear clothing from Ralph Lauren, Hugo Boss Green, Hugo Boss orange and Luke Roper has been really popular.

Sales of designer shorts have started to lift, and for those not quite ready to bare their legs our narrow fit designer jeans from Armani Jeans and Energie have been a popular choice.

Fingers crossed for this fabulous summer weather to continue!!

In the month of March 2011, we sent 14 of our mens designer suits on their travels:

Three suits sold over the internet and were sent to USA (Giorgio Armani suit), Dubai (Paul Smith suit) and Malawi (Paul Smith three piece suit).

Eleven of the suits that we sold in our shop were sent abroad:  Nicky Wallace Suit (Dubai), two Paul Smith suits (Australia), two Pal Zilleri Suits and a Hugo Suit (Poland), three Hugo Boss suits (Seychelles), Hugo Boss suit (Thailand), two Nicky Wallace suits (Carribean).

Many of the suits were for weddings.  We send our best wishes to those customers getting married.
